Fear Not, The Lord Is With You

Sorry for the poor film quality. Last year, I set up the camera and told TeenBot what buttons to press when.  This time, I let him wing it.  With a new, far more complicated, camera.

Particularly in light of recent events, it’s easy to forget that the Lord is with us always. Especially in the hard times.

This weekend, not only did I have the pleasure of singing for my church in our Christmas Cantata, but I got to watch my son perform Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer in his first piano recital.  It seems such a simple blessing, but one I cannot take for granted.

Have a Merry Christmas.

A Little Music For You

I promised I would share if I got a recording of a performance.  Well, the EvylRobot and I sang Longing for the Light from Tapestry of Light composed by Joseph M. Martin.  We sang with the combined choirs of our home church, First Christian Church of Edmond and Peace Lutheran. We had the honor of singing with these choirs as well as wonderful instrumentalists. Hope you enjoy.

Our 12 year old son did the recording.  My camera isn’t really best for video, but you get the idea.  Once I have a higher quality recording, I will share that one as well.

You did say you wanted to see more Jen on camera ;)

The DJ In My Head Likes Cellos

This is what my internal DJ has been spinning up for me lately.

So I’m playing this album at work. Nothing says work those T accounts like distorted cello.

Want more?

If only my co-workers knew what was playing in those headphones…

Maybe I should sing along. Make the accounting office a little more interesting.

Finally Woken

No content. You get music instead.

I really love this song. Great sound and a theme that just gets me some days.

Finally Woken, Finally Woken

I’ve been thinking about things
For a long while
I’m feeling so calm
I’ve got a big smile
I have a view of the sun
Right over the sea
And now I can feel
Life is flowing through me

You see I’ve finally woken
From a long sleep
I’m ready to jump
To make that blind leap
Coz I now believe
I have the power in me
I’ve got the faith baby
I can truly be free

Finally Woken
Finally Woken

Child don’t worry it’s ok
The sun is out for another day
And I say it’ll be alright
[be alright]
Today’s the first day of the
rest of your life
Remember, remember,
remember this, remember

Child don’t worry it’s ok
[I’ve got a big smile/I feel good]
The sun is out for another day
[someone’s shining on me]
And I say it’ll be alright
[be alright]
Today’s the first day of the
rest of your life
Remember Remember
Remember this Remember

Child don’t worry it’s ok
The sun is out for another day
Today’s the first day of the
rest of your life
And I say it’ll be alright
[be alright]
Remember, remember,
remember this, remember

Finally Woken
[I’ve got a big smile/I feel good]
Finally Woken
[someone’s shining on me]
Finally Woken
[I’ve got a big smile/I feel good]
Finally Woken
[someone’s shining on me]
And I say it’ll be alright, be alright
And I say it’ll be alright, be alright

Who Knew

Antonio Banderas can sing?

So you know, I’m a big fan on Sarah Brightman. That final note. I can’t hit it without warming up. We’ll see if I can convince a certain duet partner to do it with me appropriately warmed up on camera some time.
