Voting ‘Present’ On The Bailout

2:36 pm Current Events, Politics

Everyone is talking about the bailout.  There are many excellent rundowns you can find with a little Google-fu.  I’m not going to write a long drawn out post on that today.  Honestly, I’m waiting to see what happens.  The short version:  I don’t like it.  Everything I’ve heard stinks.  Something will have to be done, but that non-reviewable crap has to go.  And those of us that didn’t get in over our heads during the mortgage free-for-all shouldn’t have to suffer the same fate as those that did.  *sigh

No, I just want to point out that here in the middle of the campaign, we have the Obamessiah again proving that he can’t make a decision.  John McCain suspended his campaign so he could go and do his job that he is getting paid to do.  He invited Barry to do the same so that something could be done.  I don’t know why.  It’s not like Barry an actually make a decision.  He would just follow the party line like he does 97% of the time.  And of course, Obamessiah would rather talk about the problems instead of doing his taxpayer funded job.

It’s a risky move on McCain’s part.  It will either be brilliant or boneheaded.  But we are talking about a guy that has chosen to do the right thing even when it didn’t carry much personal benefit.  Dems are calling this a shameless political move, but we all know that Barry’s got to be counting his blessings.  No one writes scripts for debates.  After all, he was previously invited to do 8 town-halls with McCain which he refused. I’m just disappointed I don’t get to roll out some live-blogging gaffe-counter for the debates.

And now President Bush has invited Senator Obamanation to the table.  He must have promised a cherry spot for his beloved teleprompter because Barry accepted.  I supposed you can’t vote ‘present’ if you aren’t.

At least for now, McCain is looking like a real leader willing to get his hands dirty.  He’s got a job to do and is willing to do it.  Obamessiah looks like a follower that had to be called to stay after school since he’s not getting his work done.
