You could commemorate the date with a thank you to the boss, for providing an environment you survived in, for stability in your life, and for being a responsible business owner. The boss hasn’t sold the business, run it into the ground, made the work — or workplace — too intolerable for a reasonable person (like yourself!) to accept and adapt to.
Your boss is lucky to have you. You are lucky to have the boss.
