Peddle Harder Dirtbag

So we got a little back-peddling from Letterman.

“We were, as we often do, making jokes about people in the news and we made some jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter [Bristol]… and now they’re upset with me…” Letterman says on tonight’s show. “These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl…. Am I guilty of poor taste? Yes. Did I suggest that it was okay for her 14-year-old daughter to be having promiscuous sex? No.”

Saying he hopes he’s “cleared part of this up,” Letterman extended an invitation to Palin to come on the show as a guest.

Right.  It was widely known that she was traveling with her 14 year old daughter Willow who accompanied her to the baseball game, but he was joking about the other daughter.  Please explain how Sarah Palin had to worry about her daughter that was miles and miles away getting knocked up by someone that was only a few yards away from her 14 year old daughter.  Or maybe why she should have been worried about a disgraced politician mistaking the daughter that wasn’t there for one of his prostitutes.

The jokes Letterman made were about Willow, you know, the daughter that was there in New York with her mother.  Giving him the HUGE benefit of the doubt, I MIGHT believe that he didn’t mean to be joking about the younger daughter, but not after this pathetic excuse for an apology(which is not an apology at all).  If it had been a case of mistaken identity on his part, he would have said so.  He clearly implied that the underage daughter accompanying the governor would be taken advantage sexually.  Instead he is issuing a condescending statement telling everyone to get their panties out of a wad. Oh and a sniveling request that Sarah Palin come and pad his ratings.

You know, I started to suggest a ‘joke’ about his child in a similar fashion to his, but I just can’t go there.  Although David Letterman doesn’t abide by a similar standard of conduct, I will afford his son the respect he deserves.

HillBuzz has a plan, and they are creating a movement.  I’m sure Mars Candy wants its M&Ms pimping a talk show host that likes to joke about the rape of a child.  No?

UPDATE: Sarah Palin responds. Emphasis mine.

“The Palins have no intention of providing a rating’s boost for David Letterman by appearing on his show,” the Alaska governor’s rep said in a statement to FOXNews.com. “Plus, it would be wise to keep Willow away from David Letterman.”

Zing!  But of course, my favorite response came from Todd.

Any ‘jokes’ about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it, and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too.

Am I the only one that hears a bit of a growl in that?  Don’t mess with Daddy’s girl.

He makes me sick. David Letterman is an angry, bitter old liberal, who just wants Sarah Palin on his show to boost his ratings and so he can verbally abuse her to amuse all the other angry liberals who want to make Palin the new “stupid republican” poster child, now that Bush is out of office and Dan Quayle is nowhere to be found. I also would boycott his show, except I don’t watch it either.

Don’t forget the joke writer who wrote that joke for Letterman to spew on the air.

I stopped watching his show a long time ago. He’s a douchebag and the audience members who laughed at that joke is the stuff that the douche flushes out. *ack!*

“Hey, I wasn’t suggesting that an adult impregnate your 14-year-old daughter! I was saying your 18-year-old daughter is a whore! That’s ok, right?”

How is that better? Letterman is a nozzle.

His first apology was insulting, and the second one was barely passable. And he only ‘apologized’ because he was under pressure to do so.
